Monetary Award Program (MAP)

Available to eligible Illinois residents attending approved Illinois colleges, and who demonstrate financial need based on their FAFSA or Alternative Application. Grants and test scores are not required with your application.

Program Details

As a grant, this does not need to be repaid. This grant is not limited to traditional college students; adult and non-traditional students may also qualify. MAP grants can only be applied towards tuition and mandatory fees.

Colleges use the MAP formula to determine need. The formula determines the distribution of funds so that the neediest students receive assistance. Eligibility is based on several factors including information included in your FAFSA (specifically your student aid index of SAI), the cost of attendance at the college you plan to attend, and the amount of other aid you are receiving.
